An evening of dramatic radio shows from the 1930s and 1940s replete with live sound effects and the occasional funny hat. Come enjoy an evening of shows from lighthearted comedy and detective drama to a taste of suspense and the supernatural. Plan on joining us to celebrate our 2017-2018 inaugural season in the newly renovated Vienna Community Center by attending In Living Sound – Back Home!
Six actors take on various roles in presenting 4 radio episodes from 4 classic radio series:
* Popeye – Visiting the Zoo
* Boston Blackie – Blackie and the Fur Trade
* Fleischmann’s Yeast Hour – The Church Mouse
* Lights Out – Knock at the Door

Popeye – Visiting the Zoo (c. 1930s)
Popeye, Olive Oyl, Wimpy and Matey, the newsboy, visit the zoo in search of adventure. Hilarity ensues!
Boston Blackie – Blackie and the Fur Trade (c. 1945)
Janet and Harry are fur thieves, and apparently getting assistance from Detective Boston Blackie. Harebrained Inspector Faraday is in hot pursuit. Crime doesn’t pay!
Fleischmann’s Yeast Hour – The Church Mouse (1935)
A meek but scrappy, unemployed secretary lobbies for a job in a bank in a creative and unconventional way. Full of charm and human interest!
Lights Out – Knock at the Door (1938)
This tale begets the supernatural, when an overly protective mother is done away with by her new daughter-in-law. Chills and thrills to toast the season…………
